Practice overview:
Lydia joined chambers in January 2026 following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Christine Abbott.
Lydia has a busy and growing practice encompassing all areas of family law. She accepts instructions in public children law, private children law, and financial remedies. She is known for her strong advocacy, thorough preparation, and clear, supportive approach to working with clients.
In private law children matters, Lydia represents clients at all stages of proceedings, including First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments, Dispute Resolution Appointments, contested final hearings, and complex fact-finding hearings involving serious allegations of abuse. She regularly acts in section 8 applications, specific issue orders, prohibited steps orders, and applications involving domestic abuse injunctions.
Lydia also undertakes work in public law proceedings, acting for all parties, including local authorities. Her practice further extends to financial remedy proceedings, where she accepts instructions across the full spectrum of disputes.
With an excellent client manner, Lydia combines professionalism with a personable, approachable style. She is committed to ensuring clients feel supported, heard, and well-informed throughout the legal process.
Lydia graduated from the University of Exeter with a First-Class degree in Law before completing the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of the West of England, where she achieved an Outstanding and received an award for attaining the second-highest mark in her call group.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Lydia worked as a senior paralegal in a well-respected local firm within its litigation department. This experience provided her with invaluable insight into case preparation, client care, and the practical conduct of litigation-skills that now underpin her work at the Bar.
